1st Speaker of Government / Affirmative Team
Juvenile delinquency is now widespread and is not a new thing in Indonesia. This is certainly a cause for concern for the future of the nation. Juvenile delinquency is a problem that must be resolved. I believe that juvenile delinquency must be forgiven. As we know that the adolescent stage ie from age 10 years to 18 years is a critical age because they are undergoing puberty so that they are not emotionally stable. They can not control their emotions as adults because of their immature emotions.

I do not agree with the statement that juvenile delinquency should be forgiven. I believe that juvenile delinquency must be punished. It is because it is the teenagers who are doing social aberration or the juvenile delinquency. They should be punished because they are the perpetrators of the deviant act. The teens, although they are still under age, they should still be punished for doing wrong or aberrant behavior that is them. The teenagers who perform deviant behavior should be punished in accordance with their mistakes.

The teens who do not yet have a mature emotions can not fully know which actions are good or bad things to do. Therefore, if the teens do social aberration, they are entitled to be forgiven and given a second chance so they will be aware and do the right thing.

Rebuttle: I do not in line with what you said. I believe that teenagers should be punished when they do something wrong because it will make them more careful in doing anything.
Those teenagers who commit deviant acts should be punished in order to act as a deterrent. The teens who do social deviation will not be a deterrent and maybe they want to make the mistake again if they are not punished. Punishment is the best way to make them aware of what they have done and they feel a deterrent so that they will not make that mistake anymore. Punishment commensurate with their mistakes will hopefully act as a deterrent and make them not to do bad things anymore.
